About Me

Compassion

Simply, I love my work. I have the ability to sit with you in some very difficult feelings and the skills to help you make sense of complex experiences. I value empathy and compassion and seek to understand, rather than to judge. I derive the deepest satisfaction and greatest joy from the relationships in my life, both personal and professional.

Experience

I have a master's degree in social work and am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked in various mental health settings including community mental health centers, an inpatient unit at a local psychiatric hospital, and in outpatient day treatment programs. I have been in private practice for over 10 years and particularly enjoy the opportunity it provides to do long-term work with you if that interests you.

Growth

I believe that my continuing to learn sparks creativity and is vital to my ability to help you. In addition to the continuing education credits required by my licensing board, I have completed substantial advanced clinical training. Some of the programs I have been pleased to participate in include the Psychotherapy Training Program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis; Beginning, Advanced and three Master Classes offered by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation; intensive training to become a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator – Candidate, and two Advanced Training Seminars in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through the New England Educational Institute.
